Black solar panels are a huge contributor to less albedo. The air around solar panels heats to twice the average region outside temperature.
Could balance that by painting roofs light green or or light blue. But there is no political will to do that

I rely on physics, and as CO2 reacts with infrared on a reducing logarithmic base most resonant photons are depleted in the first 20ppm.
Meeting net zero would would make no significant change to climate.
So what is the point in reducing CO2 that is absolutely essential to life?

Was just discussing mythology and history with someone and the Edomite god Qos was mentioned. The other party did a stoner move and asked if there was a relationship to the Greek Khaos.
As it happens, Qos is probably related to Qaws, Arabic for bow, related to the archer god Quzah (compare Orion, Nimrod, Esau). Chaos comes from an etymology meaning “gape” or “yawn” (you can hear the etymological root in each). Presumably the expanse of the sky, which was assumed to hold the primordial substance preceding creation.
However I was thinking about different symbols. The rainbow as a covenant against world destruction. Atlas who holds up the firmament.
Perhaps the Arabic qaws has some Indo-European basis and refers to the drawing of the bow. As if Atlas-Orion creates the expanse by drawing back the bow, creating the gaping sky.

The air is blowing over top the surface, and thus picks up the heat. It is both faster to pick up the heat than the deeper parts of the ground, and easier to warm (air has a low heat capacity on a volumetric basis compared to dirt and stone).
So the atmosphere is warming faster, not from the light, but from air blowing across the warmer surface of the earth. This is pushing the troposphere upwards, as the more energetic atmosphere literally has more kinetic energy, which allows it to fight against the pull of gravity harder (gravity is what holds the air against the earth).
The solid dirt and rock warm more slowly, as they just have a higher “thermal mass” – the way that a large pot of water is harder to heat than a slice of pizza.”

There’s nothing wrong with the warm surface, heated by the sun, then warming the atmosphere. That’s not what the climate GHE is.

So I’ve wrapped my head around why their steel man for RGHE is wrong. They act as if the energy absorbed by CO2 would not otherwise have entered the system. Space to surface to space. This is their “too cold” surface model.
GHG is a modification, suddenly the energy is in the system, in the air.
But the energy gets into the air anyway, thanks to conduction. And that’s that.
It’s also astonishing to think that hot air won’t give off radiation if it’s not IR active. That 2-5% of the atmosphere makes the whole thing completely opaque to IR until “effective emissions height”. And then the constant mixing of theories. That GHG explains the temperature but also exists as an independent secondary phenomenon to temperature lapse. What a goddamned mess.
Energy transferred to CO2 is in a very narrow spectrum, all non resonant photons travel into space not interrupted by CO2.
Its unlikely natural photons will be available at night, unless its from a volcano.

There is a story from my childhood that I have shared on several different web sites and maybe Joe’s as well. With this excellent video of Joe’s I think my story is worth retelling.
When I was a fourth grader in the 1950’s our teacher led us in a study of the weather. We learned that the sun imparts a tremendous amount of heat in the equatorial regions and very little at the poles. It is this mixing of hot and cold that drives the weather. So I conclude from this that fourth graders of the 1950’s knew more about climate science than many PhD’s in climate science do today.

That looks like heat transfer, which warmists incorrectly use for radiative purposes. Are you trying to derive 340?
340 comes from solar insolation divided by 4 minute reflectivity. You also have to remove the part absorbed by the atmosphere it becomes 240. But it’s wrong it should be 480 because insolation is received on the day side.
My bad, not 340 (that’s “back radiation”) 398 is what I’m after for earth’s output from the 288K emitting. I was under the impression “Q = Aeσ(288^4 – 255^4)” would produce that number.

We’re seeing Postma’s thesis in action. The sun heats the Earth, and it doesn’t stop at noon, it stops at sunset. Although, 6PM implies the Earth has a mighty good ability to shed head without it becoming “trapped”.
Land works very differently than ocean, and ocean is the driver. I assume that if you take the average surface insolation (30+0 / 2) and apply the atmospheric pressure effect, you end up with a temperature that water is preserving, almost like memory foam. The pressure effect somewhat equalizes between midnight’s temperature and noon, and the poles, since a pressure zone is a shell. I think water helps even things out. Without it the equator would be a bit hotter, the ex-tropics a bit colder. A bit more variation between day and night. This difference is seen in your graphic.
